FOTELL.

Fotell is the name of my very first piece of furniture . As part of the “Square Meets Wire” project at the FH Aachen in the 3rd semester, we were given the task of designing a piece of furniture out of 25 meters oak and steel wire with a specified diameter.

The result is a comfortable armchair with a footrest which can be conveniently stored under the seat.

THE PROCESS.

An important part, in addition to the conceptual aspect of the project,
was the construction of the furniture.

The final armchair.

Fotell is an armchair combined with an elegant footrest that can be easily stored under the seat. The chairs design consists of a continuously visible wooden structure of which refined joinery is detectable in every joined corner of the seat frame. The soft cushioning is supported by a doubled structure of welded steel and hanging in an elegant strap detail. Fotell creates a “feel-good-area” and offers users in privacy and protective comfort.
